    Story

The Accessibility Project is an award winning social enterprise which is invested in building accessible, healthy communities, where everybody has the chance of a positive quality of life! 2022 has been a fantastic year from us, and we have run, and supported some brilliant projects. From launching Ukrainian Refugee and Host Support Networks, to Arts and Crafts as wellbeing, to more recently, working in partnership with St John's Church in Hurst Green set up the warm-hub initiative, and assisting their brilliant Community Fridge Scheme! We want to celebrate the end of our year, by investing in what Christmas is all about. Celebrating, supporting and loving one-another, and sharing what we have, with those who may have less.

This is why we are launching the CHRISTMAS COMMUNITY GIVEAWAY! A little like the Christmas Shoebox Appeal, we are aiming to create ONE HUNDRED GIFT BAGS to share with local children, adults and the elderly, plus another FIFTY for our local Ukrainian Guests. These Christmas Giftbags are just a small token to say Happy Christmas to those who may struggle to find the joy as much as others. It is also a symbol to say to everybody in our community of Hurst Green, and wider Tandridge, you are a part of this community, and you are not alone.

We cannot achieve this without your help. We need your help. Whether that's through donating to this just giving page, for us to go out and buy items for our Christmas Giftbags, donating items you don't use anymore, or helping us sort, pack and give the giftbags out, your help is essential.

This Christmas Community Giveaway is also personal to our founder and director, Abi Chapman's heart, and here are her reasons why:

'Christmas to me has always been about coming together, being in the company of those you love, and the spirit of sharing, has always been more important to me, than receiving. At the start of this year, my best friend of fifteen years, Joe Geddes, passed away after a long personal battle. Joe was the light of not just my life, but the community. He helped everybody. He championed everybody. As his best friend, and as the director of The Accessibility Project, I want to champion his memory, and his legacy, and continue his gift of giving.'
