    Story

This just giving page has been set up due to the response to Megs sad death up in the the Mountain of Ben Sgulaird. A huge number of people have been left so saddened by her death including our large group of like minded passionate people at Action4Meg.

Action4Meg, which include the rescue team who were out on the ground for 4 days to find the beloved Collie, are hoping to raise a fitting memorial for Meg; near to Ben Sgulaird. Not only to ensure her memory lives on but so that walkers who are about to take on the mountain will be reminded, before setting off with their pets, of how special they are to us and how important it is to to always be fully prepared and equipped.

The mountains should never be taken lightly, particularly in the winter! With this in mind, we have no idea how much we may raise but our vision is to establish "Megs Mountain Trust"* and to create easily accessible information on Mountain Safety with your Pets via pamphlets, webpages, booklets, websites and training days. This will include hints, tips, equipment recommendations and advice from professional such as MRT, search teams, vets and experienced hikers.

We have no doubt that Meg loved her time in the Mountains, however, we want to help minimise this happening ever again. With Megs Mountain Trust and the help of all who are involved we feel Megs memory can go a long way to doing just this and more.

So please give whatever you can in memory of Meg and for the safe and enjoyable future of all hiking dogs.

*Megs Mountain Trust" we are not a charity but the with intent to become one if there is enough traction

Read this story and it absolutely broke my heart. Really glad to have found something that will help to memorialise Meg and help other dogs from succumbing to the same fate. Xx
