Story
Chris, who is the Sergeant Major (Royal Military Police) for the Deputy Advisor to the Afghanistan Ministry of Interior Affairs, took over from Matt a British Military Provost Staff Sergeant major who came up with an idea to start the Afghan Injured and Martyred (AIM) Project (Now renamed as the Afghan Injured and Maimed (AIM), Matt raised in excess of $16,000, which helped to send the Afghan Invictus Games team to Toronto in 2017.
$5000 of the funds above has been set aside to help a Police Special Forces Unit who have suffered great casualties in the recent attacks of Jan/Feb 2018.
The AIM Project is being coordinated by Sergeant Major Chris and his team of Multi-national military and civilian personnel currently deployed in Kabul, Afghanistan. This team of individuals have instrumental roles in training, advising, and assisting the ANDSF to create a sustainable security model that enhances governance and protects the people of Afghanistan.
Due to the high threat and insurgent activities across the country, many of the Afghan National Police officers and other security forces are being severely wounded or even killed during their selfless service to their country. This is where AIM can help.
For those deployed, we are seeking $20 donations and a pledge to run/walk/cycle/row 290.56 miles each - to replicate the distance between Helmand and Kabul, Afghanistan. Upon Registration you will receive a free T-Shirt and Velcro Patch which will show you are supporting this magnificent cause.
For those at home, wherever you may live around the world, you can take part too by completing the prescribed mileage, or you can generously donate money towards the cause. Due to Postage prices, any donation $50 and over, you will receive a free T-Shirt, however you will need to email our email account aimafghanistan@gmail.com (controlled by Security cleared Soldiers) with your time and date of sponsor and your home address or PO-Box details to receive your package.
All money raised will help- our team provide much needed help in updating services at the Kabul Military Hospital. It also aims to help Police and Military Staff who have been injured/wounded in the line of duty
We are hoping that this project will grow as it is now in its second release phase. This will enable us to do even more to support Afghan injured and maimed servicemen and women, along with their families across Afghanistan. Donate now to make a difference!
