Hi all!

Anyone who knows me will probably be aware that I am a student midwife training at the University of East Anglia. You might also know that I am volunteering in Arusha, Tanzania as a student midwife over the summer!

I am so lucky to be on this course and doing something I love that is so rewarding. I have enjoyed every minute of my training so far, and can't wait to take it that bit further by experiencing maternity healthcare in Tanzania in Africa. In Tanzania there are only two midwives per 1,000 live births; and the lifetime risk of death during delivery for women is one in 23.

I have been given this opportunity by the Work the World company to work in a variety of settings, including the labour wards and theatres. So far - I have my flights booked! I'd like to thank everyone that has helped to contribute so far as it means the world, and every small donation is a massive help for a poor student hoping to do some good!
