Story
I am part of a 24 man group cycling from Bournemouth to Burnley.
We will leave Bournemouth on Wednesday 9th May and return to Burnley on Saturday 12th May, in time for the last game of the season against Bournemouth.
Cycling over 300 miles in 3 days, to raise awareness of prostate cancer.
The riders are raising money for Burnley FC vice-chairman Barry Kilby who is suffering from prostate cancer.
A club spokesman said: “Barry is determined to raise awareness of the disease and the very simple PSA test can lead to early detection and a successful treatment.
“Barry is keen to host more of these testing days, the thought process is that men are much more likely to want to visit a football club than their doctors.
“Breaking down the barriers that tend to keep men from undertaking tests like this.”
The club have held several testing days and more than 10 per cent of 700 of those who took part were referred for further treatment.
