I am registered blind and have enjoyed taking part in sailing events over the years. It has helped me to build my self confidence. I would like to enable other blind and disabled people to have the same opportunity to build their self confidence and self esteem through participating in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers in November 2017. I have obtained a 30 year old Sadler 34 and need to upgrade safety and navigational equipment before setting off for the ARC. I will be taking some blind sailors as well as sighted helpers. After the race has finished I will be able to offer sailing opportunities to other blind and disabled sailors. Any donations towards this cause would be very much appreciated and will be put to good use.
