In June 2017 I will be going on a one month expedition to Fiji with the charity 'Think Pacific' to support some of the poorest communities in the country.

I will be living with a Fijian family for the duration of the volunteering experiencing first hand daily life and struggles of these communities whilst also providing teaching aid and sports coaching for the children.

Fiji has more than 250,000 people living in poverty, 1/3 of children live below the poverty line and 75% don't have access to fresh water or proper sanitation. ‘Think Pacific’ aim to improve the opportunities for these vulnerable children offering a standard of education, providing classroom help and materials, sport coaching and equipment to invest into the youths to help them escape the poverty cycle.

The charity has done some amazing work especially since the Cyclone Winston in 2016 which devastated many of the Islands, destroying homes, schools and sadly killing many. The charity has opened several schools and introduced kindergartens to the country providing the children with the best possible start.

‘Think Pacific’ are recognised as key partners with the Fijian government in their task to provide opportunities for future generations.
All funds raised will be going directly towards the charity and will really make a huge difference to the lives of many.
