Story
This war memorial is a clock tower dressed with ashlar blocks and white marble inscription panels with lead letters. There is an oak door to the rear which gives access to the inside. It is located in the memorial gardens within the town square.
Unfortunately the clock is in need of extensive restoration, including replacing the mechanism. it has not kept time or chimed for a considerable time.....and I believe that we owe it to the fallen to restore this magnificent clock to its former glory.
The total cost of restoration is £30000. Unfortunately it seems that only limited funds will be available. I am no longer an Amble resident....but it is my home town and I have very fond memories of the clock from childhood. Thus I have stepped up to the plate and offered to coordinate some fundraising

An iconic landmark of Amble that certainly needs the support of the community so that it is restored and working once more
