Story
Our dear friend Ruby as some of you may know has been unwell for the last year. Recently she was advised to move to Blackpool to recover and retire. Blackpoool has proven to be a huge mistake. Ruby is isolated and far away from friends and London support network. She would like to return, however has no funds left to pay for a deposit on a flat or the removal costs. She has told us she is very unhappy where she is and misses everyone terribly. There is no one for her to talk to and the area she's moved to is desolate and dreary. Minnie and I being close friends of Ruby would like to help by:
Raising £1200 for a months rent in advance
Raising a further £1200 as a deposit. (Ruby's budget will be £300 per week and another friend is trying to find a suitable 2 bedroom apartment close to shops etc.)
And finally a few quid for van and man to move her, Arjan and Miaw Miaw back to the Smoke.

6 years agoWe raised a fabulous £1,225 ( minus £61.25 JustGiving fees and £17.76 JustGiving processing costs) leaving £1,145.99 . Cash raised at the Admiral Duncan benefit of £255 brings the total to £1,400.99. Thank you to all of you who performed , donated etc. Minnie and I now intend to buy items for Ruby's home in Blackpool with the money to make her more comfortable where she is . 6 years agoMinnie Diamond will now be responsible for all the money raised and will negotiate with Ruby as and when she needs the money for furniture / equipment to make her life in Blackpool more comfortable. We intend to keep all purchases made as emails/invoices etc ( so we have a paper trail). We also plan to post the paper trail on this page so you can see what's been done with the funds raised. As some people have raised concerns that the money may be wasted, we don't want anyone to worry unduly. Minnie is Ruby's contact and i 'll update this page.

6 years agoGood morning. I've had only one person's feed-back about what to do with the funds. ( My suggestion was either to re-emburse the donations to the people who made them OR to buy eg an electric bed or recliner chair something to make Ruby's life in Blackpool more comfortable as they have now decided they don't want to move.) Today I am going to transfer the funds from the Just Giving Charity account where they have been held into Mark Larney ( Minnie Diamond's) bank account today. Minnie also holds the Admiral Duncan funds raising money.
