Story
The rising rate of mental and emotional illness in Africa is alarming with growing levels of stigma and discrimination, sufferers are often isolated by their communities, their human rights violated, denied economic, social and cultural rights and even restricted on the rights to work and education as well as reproductive rights and the right to the highest attainable standard of health. They are often denied civil and political rights such as the right to marry and having a family & personal liberty.
Amira Kamara is a British citizen who is standing for THE ROOT MHF to raise funds to complete the building work going on in Cameroon (West Africa) in order to Care and support people with mental illness & Epilepsy in a safe and caring environment and also raise awareness.
The Root MHF is a place whereby people with mental illness and epilepsy will be living and treated to recovery & participate back fully in the society.
THE ROOT MHF was established in 2009 in The UK in order to care and support people with mental illness and Epilepsy in Africa. THE ROOT MHF offers selfless service to people with mental disabilities regardless of their background and even support families of victims if need be.
Our core priority is to provide physical and emotional care in a safe and caring environment for those who are homeless, walking naked in the streets, chained behind bars and abandoned by their own communities.
THE ROOT MHF BUILDING WORK is situated in BOKWAI BUEA IN CAMEROON.
Integrity in all our work, we subscribe to the simple credo of saying what we will do and do what we say.
Courage. We hold ourselves, to extraordinarily high standards of performance and ethics.
Positivity; We encourage everyone who joined us to focus and act on what is doable and good, and to approach challenges and difficulties with a pro-active, problem-solving mindset.
Please help by donating to fulfil our dreams
