I have known Ann for around 6 years, firstly as a colleague (Ann worked as a heart failure nurse at our hospital prior to having to finish work because of her condition) and now as her physio and friend.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a progressive neurological condition that can be halted by stem cell transplant. Ann has been accepted for this treatment in Moscow on 8th October 2018. There is limited provision of stem cell transplant on the NHS and lengthy waiting times, with MS time is brain, her condition will progress and disability worsen without this treatment.

Ann was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 26. Ann currently walks with a walking stick and has to use a mobility scooter for longer distances. She also experiences significant pain and normal day to day activities are very difficult for her. Ann is a single mum of a young son and the main drive for her pursuing the stem cell transplant is so that she can be there for her son as he grows up.

I have completed each of the UK 3 peaks individually which were challenges on their own (see my photos below). We are completing them unguided and I'm determined to complete them in 24 hours and raise lots of money to get Ann to Moscow! The planned date is 7th September 2018.
