I'm climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in East Africa to raise awareness for pangolins and to fund the conservation efforts of the NGO SavePangolins.org.

Pangolins are solitary and primarily nocturnal mammals that are victims of aggressive poaching—mainly in Asia and in growing amounts in Africa—for their meat and scales. Two of the eight species of pangolins are listed as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

As an initial step on my fundraising adventure — nicknamed 'Operation Pangolin' — I will be participating in a Tough Mudder race on the 6 May 2017 taking place at Henley on Thames. I'm also dragging Jacinto, my lovely husband on this muddy adventure.

Tough Mudder is a 10-12 mile mud and obstacle course designed to drag participants out of their comfort zone by testing their physical strength, stamina, and mental grit :) Without podium places and race times, Tough Mudder is a race that emphasises teamwork, and camaraderie.
