    Story

I was selected to go to INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR MEDIA
AND COMMUNICATION RESEARCH (IAMCR) Winter School on Participation and Communication next December, in Guangzhou, China. The Winter School is free, but I need to pay my air travel and expenses.

This is a very important achievement to me and to my family, but they cannot support me beyond my present state. I have studied all my life supported by institutions such as UNESCO, Argentinian and Brazilian Governments respectively. At the moment, I have a scholarship from the Brazilian Government, but my funding will soon elapse and does not cover participation in Summer Schools, research software or any travel related to the research. My universities do not cover this type of need and do not have programs to help financially-handicapped or underprivileged students. Thus, I have to cover several parts of my Ph.D. research myself.

It is in view of the aforementioned that I am promoting this campaign, to ask the academic community and everyone who believes in education as me, to contribute to my participation in this Winter School.

Hello! The time is running out. I am very happy because I raised about 50% of my air ticket (justgiving+VAKINHA+PayPal). So, I just want to say thanks for you who helped me and believed in my dreams and projects.

Hello, everyone! I have not raised all that I need, but I am going to China tonight. I would like to say: thanks very much to you for supporting this travel, this research, and all my dreams! I hope I can help a lot of people too in the future, through education and community projects around the world.
