Hidden injuries such as PTSD don't always get the same exposure and attention as physical injuries.

We have started "Driven To Extremes" as a charity to support and assist in the rehabilitation of veterans with PTSD.

In May 2017 we will take our first group of veterans on a trip to the most northerly point of the UK in Shetland.

This trip, as well as helping the veterans prepare for longer expeditions, is also acting as a fund-raiser for an overland expedition to Europe's highest village, Ushguli in Georgia, which will take place in September 2017.

Some activities can allow too much thinking time, but vehicle expeditions can cross continents in a matter of days. The intense exposure to rapidly changing landscapes, climates and cultures bombards the veterans with new and exciting experiences, pushing horrific memories to the back of their minds.

We have the chance to take more veterans to Shetland in May but this requires us to raise some additional funds quickly.

Any monies not used on the Shetland trip will be added to the funds for the expedition to Ushguli.
