    Story

On Saturday 1st July, I am taking part in a 24 hour cycling event called The Lang Way Doon. We are starting our journey in Tongue on the north coast of Scotland and completing it, 330 miles later, in Coldstream on the southern border. Scotland in a Day!!

I am raising money for the pupils of Saltersgate School in Dalkeith which is Midlothian's only school for children and young people with a wide variety of additional support needs. Many of the pupils at Saltersgate enjoy cycling and benefit hugely from the independence gained from being on a bike, in addition to the obvious physical advantages. The school has a wide range of bikes for children of all ages, including many specially adapted bikes for pupils with a variety of physical challenges. My goal is to provide the children with a selection of new helmets to replace some that have seen better days and allow them to continue to progress happily and safely.

I am also donating a chunk of the money raised towards CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland) - a mighty challenge for a mighty cause!

Thank you to everyone who supported us through this challenge, we made it! :-) at 6:30 this morning we crossed the border into England. Exhausted and over the moon! Alison and Maxwell's support on the day was incredible, couldn't have done it without them. Now time to plan the next daft challenge, Thanks again everyone!
