Story
Hey i’m Andy and i’m running the MBNA Chester Marathon for my close relatives The Hopper family on the 8th of October 2017!
Tony Hopper was diagnosed with bulbar onset Motor Neurone Disease at the age of 40 years old. Bulbar MND is a life limiting illness with an average prognosis of 2-3 years from onset of symptoms. Tony has had symptoms since May 2016.
Tony is a loving husband and proud dad to three boys aged 4, 7 and 9 years old.
Tony is well known in football circles as he was a professional footballer playing for Carlisle United from 1992- 2002 and then Workington Reds 2002- 2012.
The aim of this page is to raise enough money to fill the next two years with enough memories to last a lifetime for their family! The funds will also help the family to make large necessary modifications to their home creating the best quality of life & independence for Tony as he travels through this journey!
If you could help me raise some money for such an awesome family I’d be super super super grateful!
It is important to mention that the Hoppers are also fundraising for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. They have set up a "fight back fund" in Tony's name and will be doing a number of fundraising activities to raise money.
Thanks,
Andy
