I am having my head shaved to raise money to go towards the installation of a TV aerial on the oncology ward D2 at Southampton General Hospital.
While I stayed with my sister on this ward, I helped to support her while she was critically ill, as she gradually got better the silence of the ward was depressing, so we requested a radio to distract us and keep us entertained.
Fortunately my sister had a side room so I was able to stay over night with her so she was never alone. Others are not this fortunate, they maybe all alone, left with their own thoughts, facing this horrible disease. Having a TV to watch would help distract them for a bit from their own reality.
Unfortunately my sister could be back on this ward again & I would so much like for her stay to be an easy one watching her favourite soaps xx
