My daughter and i are going to do a sponsored walk along the North Wales coast on Sunday 30th April 17. This is a 15 mile walk from Kinmel Bay to llandudno. We will be walking with our Greek rescue dogs 7 in all who will take part at different stages

The awful abuse of animals that occurs in Greece everyday is a sharp contrast to the image the government wishes to portray to it's tourists.
Thousands of innocent animals are routinely shot, run over and left for dead, poisoned, drowned or driven to remote locations and dumped by their callous owners who have no further use for them. Many will suffer the most agonising of deaths and yet this continues day in day out!
Greece has been part of the EU since 1981 and yet their treatment of animals belongs in the dark ages. Greece does have laws in place to protect companion and stray animals but rarely enforces them choosing to ignore the atrocities these animals suffer continually.
There are many charities in Greece that do their utmost to help as many as possible but many just can't cope with the deluge of sick, injured and abandoned dogs and cats that are desperate for help.
I see horrific images on social media of starving injured souls and despair thinking I can't do anything about it, we can, we can all play a part and yes you are right, we cant save them all or help them all but isn't it better to help some rather than sitting back and pretending it isn't happening!
I care passionately about this and will do everything possible to alleviate the suffering of as many as I can.

The 2 rescues that I am supporting are, desperate greekies dog rescue and Greek animal rescue. I have adopted from both of these rescues and the Greek dogs are just the most wonderful dogs despite their pasts. These rescues do invaluable work and help so many dogs & cats that would either endure a miserable existence or be just another carcass on the side of the road.
The dogs need the rescuers and in turn the rescuers need us.
