I met Shaan 3 years ago as I started working for London Economics. He was assigned to me as my mentor and has since never missed to inspire me when we meet.

Then, 2 years ago Shaan was diagnosed with ALS, a type of motor neurone disease that gradually leads to all the muscles stopping working, just after his son turned 1. He’s fighting hard and doing an amazing job of keeping upbeat and keeping up with his work as an economist and mentoring me.

Shaan needs a bathroom with wheelchair access, a specialist toilet and a wheel-in shower ASAP, but he and his wife can’t get help from the authorities so long as Shaan is working! Shaan loves what he does and wants to keep working, so he needs your help to get him the bathroom he needs.

I will be participating with Shaan in the fundraising by doing a 5k ‘run’ through Hyde Park - me on foot and he in his zoomy green wheelchair this Saturday 11 August!

Please help me get Shaan his bathroom so that he can keep working and inspiring me and others as a great economist!
