    Story

I got Baz and his sister Daisy when they were 9 weeks old as they had been left on a doorstep. Baz was a big, black, gentle and sweet boy who is the heart of our home. He welcomed fosters into the house, cats and dogs and we ended up fostering Charlie. He and Baz ended up taking turns chasing each other around the house, and having paw fights..but no real aggression. He taught Charlie tricks and Charlie reciprocated. They were always up to something. On 6th January 2017, my boy had an abscess, possibly due to a run in with another cat and I took him to the vets, who gave him painkillers and antibiotics. Unfortunately, the abscess burst and suddenly there was all this blood everywhere. Got through the weekend after calling emergency vet, trying not to panic, then had him back at vets onMonday 9th. He got given a 2 week antibiotic shot and I got anti-inflammatory liquid to give him. I stopped the anti-inflammatory as he wasn't eating, so had him back to vets again on Monday 16 January. He was brighter that week, but his breathing was getting worse, and he didn't want to eat his usual treats. The breathing worried me and I knew something wasn't right with my boy. So, I was told to bring him in on Tuesday 23rd for him to get x-rays. I got a call at 11.30am telling me my boy was having difficulty shaking off the anaesthetic, then telling me they found a mass in his right lung. The best thing for my boy was to let him go while he was still a bit woozy from anaesthetic. My beautiful Bazzy went in for x-rays and never came home. I wasn't there when he left, my voice wasn't the last thing he heard,my arms were not the last thing he felt. I paid everything I could, but I am struggling and heartbroken because If I can't pay the bill, I don't get my boy's ashes. I thank you for reading this and don't forget that whether it's your 4 legged loved ones or two, you really don't ever know when it is the last time.
