Story
In February 2018 myself and a group of others will be travelling to Delhi, India for 2 weeks in order to work with both the Christian Brothers currently out there and a number of different charities/campaigns supporting orphans, disabled children and children living on the streets. In order to do this however, £1,600 has to be raised to cover all expenses. The economic gap between the rich and poor in India is vast, during our trip we hope to help provide informal education as well as taking part in activities, creating bonds and relationships with people we wouldn't meet in our everyday life.
The list of groups/charities we will be working with includes -
Nine is Mine campaign - who work for the rights of children in India and for change in national spending policy, so to ensure that all children have equal access to health care and education.
Sai Swayam Society - An NGO charity that works with the deaf and hearing impaired minority in India.
Mother Teresa's Home - An orphanage for disabled girls.
Salaam Baalak Trust - Are an Indian NGO that provide care, protection and support to street children and working children in Delhi.
Any donations are greatly appreciated :)
