Story

I have always wanted to volunteer my time and skills and now I am finally going to. My aim is to give back, learn about the animals and aim to find myself. The trip will test me and I will learn the true culture shock. I hope to come home proud, lucky and wiser to life.

This is not a holiday at all, my time will be spent working hard, helping the volunteers and caring for the injured animals by the means of poachers.

The donations raised will be to help me pay towards my medicals as I will need several including HIV, Malaria and Yellow, your donations will also help towards the cost of my programme. I will fund my own flights and spending money.

How will my time be spent?
Animal Monitoring - Assisting in the tracking and monitoring of the recently collared Rhino, Leopard and Elephant, as it is vital for the reserve to understand their movements and behaviours. You will have the opportunity to get close to these amazing animals on a daily basis, and in turn will have the opportunity to learn a great deal about their behaviour.

Leopard Tracking - Involvement with a major tracking project in the local area which is currently monitoring the movements of many leopards by the means of camera traps. Volunteers are needed to check these cameras frequently and record the sightings.

Big Cat Rehabilitation Project - You will spend the afternoon viewing and getting up close to wild Cheetahs, Serval Cats, African Wildcats and Caracal (Lynx), which were orphaned or injured in the wild and are in need of care and rehabilitation. Learn about breeding programs, and where possible, the release of their offspring back into their natural habitat.

Snake and Crocodile Course - At a local crocodile park you will be given a two hour course learning about the snakes and crocodiles that lives in the area.

South Africa

Hey guys, Thank you for visiting my page. As you can see I am hoping to visit the south of Africa late 2017. My aim is to attend a voluntary programme that will allow me to help care for animals that have been harmed by local poachers.
