Story
The aim of raising these funds is to help teach Natural Beekeeping methods in Scotland. A method which is imperative to the conservation of one of the worlds most important species which have become gravely endangered.
Honey Bees are under a considerable stress, world wide due to many different factors. These consist of Environmental factors, such as there not being the right food sources for them to pollinate, over intensive farming on a commercial level and the use of toxic pesticides which are used throughout the world.
Having previously worked as a commercial Bee Farmer, I was given a rather distressing insight into how the natural biological order of the species was severly disrupted and health jeporadised through over intensive farming.
These intrusive methods, prevelant for the past century, have resulted in an evident worldwide decrease in colony numbers, with some regions in complete extinction.
A natural, ethical and sustainable approach to this practice is now of great importance to conserve and increase healthy colony numbers.
The funds raised will go towards creating an education programme to be taught in schools to teach children about the importance of Bees.
The funds will also be used towards teaching facilities, such as observation hives which can show the function of a working hive without having to open it up, and disrupt the colony.
Lastly, the funds will also be used towards aquiring Scottish Native Black Bees and setting up a breeding programme for conservation.
Please help support our dwindling colonies by supporting Natural Beekeeping.
Thank you for your time and consideration
