    Story

I've been homeless since 2016. The reason for this happening because of slough borough council and the Job Center in 2011 I was on JSA my adver advide me to go on ESA so i went on to ESA got given appointment for assessment the day I had the assessment was not well and could not make it so I re-booked it. Though re-booking my payments ESA got stopped my housing benefit got stopped, this was for my council flat I had to wait 7 months for new appointment so I did not have any money. Therefore, I could not pay housing benefit so slough council took me to court. I got an appointment, which I attended and within in 3 weeks time i got the result back for assessment. The results was that I had to go back on JSA saying that I was fit to work so through me taking advice from advisers at the Job Center and Slough borough council put me in £3000 pounds rent arrears and they said that I am liable for it as i had to start a new clam for JSA I had a meeting at the council we arggreement that pay £100 pound a month i stuck to my argement i had some up and down with payments in middle of 2015 the council knocked at my door and said the flats wete being knocked down so they would move me to new flat i looked at a flat in langley i acppet it but because i had a dog they didnt give that one so they found other one for look at so went go and look at it when i got it carvan at moment of time my girlfriend was pregant so i refused the cavan so because this got enfiction letter on friday i had to be out by monday so because of this i had chance get court fight my case as bafirts were at my door my mum was on phone to me and she want talk to housing officer so could pay off the renters it this on letter that rent payed of evesion would be dismissed the housing offcer fused payment so me and my pregant girlfriend was now homeless the council put my girlfriend in b and b and when she 32 weeks pregant slough council kicked me and her back out on the streets apernty the rentess was her to because the flat with me for last mounth of pregance we were living in a tent down juilble river when she gave bith socil severs got involded due to me being on drugs so socil severs housed but lelf me in a tent so i know that i needed changed my life so went rehabit was i in reable for 11 months when i left the reabit i came back to slough a friend helpped me this was beinging of 2017 we are know in beinging of 2018 i am clean not using drugs i am still homeless still living on street sometime my friends let me stay with them i just need to get roof over my head i get relalsionship with my children thank for reading my story

I have been homeless since 2016, and since then I have been rough sleeping and sofa surfing. I became homeless after I took the advice of those at the council to stop my JSA claim and move on to ESA. After months of no payments, leading to rent arrears and ultimately the decision that I was not liable to ESA I hit rock bottom. At this time my girlfriend was pregnant and when she was 32 weeks gone we were evicted from where we were staying and forced to live on the street. When my girlfriend was heavily pregnant we were forced to live in a tent on the Jubilee River. I cannot describe how difficult and terrifying this time was for us. I have been homeless since 2016, and since then I have been rough sleeping and sofa surfing. I became homeless after I took the advice of those at the council and Job Center to stop my JSA claim and move on to ESA. After months of no payments, leading to rent arrears and ultimately the decision that I was not liable for ESA I hit rock bottom. Whilst my girlfriend was pregnant we were evicted from two properties due to the rent arrears. In the end my girlfriend was 32 weeks gone and we were forced to live on the street. Whilst heavily pregnant we were forced to live in a tent on the Jubilee River. I cannot describe how difficult and terrifying this time was for us. Once she gave birth social services got involved and took her away. I had to spend time getting clean and sorting my life out whilst still being homeless. It is now January 2018 and despite being clean I am still homeless and I am now looking to gain access to housing. This has not been without challenges, as the benefits system has sent me round in circles. My dream is to start my own landscape gardening business, however, I can only bring this dream to life is have a roof over my head. Please help me achieve this. Thank you for reading my story.
