I Work within Faifield General Hospital as a member of Spiritual Care team. I support patients, staff and visitors in my role, from the birth of a new life to the end of life. I see people I support and work with, dealing with the sadness and grief of losing loved ones or seeing them suffering. Staff work extremely hard with limited places to sit in quiet contemplation. With the help of the community I am planning to create a Peace garden. To help patients, and visitors get away for a few moments in a quiet corner. A place for staff to recharge batteries within the hospital grounds, to sit and just be, to reflect in natural surroundings. With constant cuts in essential care and treatment of patients there are very limited resources for spiritual well being of patients and staff. Donations towards seating, plants and water feature will be greatfully received for The Peace Garden, which it is hoped will bring much needed serenity in the hubbub of demands in our lives.
