In September I am travelling to Sri Lanka for 3 months to take part in a Graduate Mental Health Programme with SLV Global. SLV Global runs projects to help the local community while simultaneously helping Graduates to gain valuable experience in the mental health sector. I have managed to fund the £1700 placement and £500 flights myself by working every hour god sends and 2 surprisingly profitable car boot sales! However to give those I'm working with as much support and help with their progress I want to provide the best resources I can.

I will be running activities for patients at different stages of their mental health illness, children with special needs, , vulnerable people and those suffering from trauma. The funds I receive will go towards resources for running effective sessions for those I am working with. Resources such as sensory equipment, arts and crafts materials and sports apparatus.

This placement will provide me with invaluable training and experience which will help me secure a job in the mental health sector in the UK. It will also really help those, myself, and other volunteers will be working with who are in desperate need of Mental Health and Support Services like the ones we have in the UK
