Please donate to help us buy a Defibrillator for our local Community of Banknock We are aiming for £1,000.

For every minute without CPR and defibrillation a person's chance of survival drops by 7- 10%. If delayed more than 10 minutes the chance of survival in adults is less than 5%. Our nearest Defibrillator is based at least 10 minutes away from the Banknock and that's only one way. I'm sure you can do the maths.

If anyone has ever had to use a defib then you know its a stressful and upsetting moment in time. Having help at your fingertips is the one thing you can hope for, waiting just isn't an option. Having this equipment saves lives and as much as we hope we will never have to use it I know I would rather it be 2 minutes away rather than 20!

Unfortunately, myself and my family have had experience of this and we had had to wait until an ambulance arrived, so with this in mind I want to make one available for our village.

The Banknock Medical Centre has agreed to allow for this to be installed on the external wall of the centre and the Ambulance Service have agreed to Maintain and service the Defib once installed.
