Story
The street dogs of Bansko are forever growing in number, and we're getting together to neuter as many of them as we can to help put a stop to it. These lovely dogs live outside in all weathers, with no medical care, and rely on the kindness of tourists and locals for scraps of food.
Since the lockdown started here mid March the food sources are scarce, and there is only so much the locals can do without your help. We aim to first of all neuter as many of the dogs as we can, provide medical care for those in need, and cover the costs of food so that more can be fed. There are plenty of people here willing to offer their time to help the dogs, so please if you can do your bit and send just a few pounds ... it will make the world of difference to these little darlings.
They're so friendly - as you'll know if you've visited Bansko - and they have no idea where all the people have gone or why their world has been turned upside down! Please share this fundraiser and our facebook page www.facebook.com/BanskoStreetDogs , the more people that can help the better!

4 years agoWe are still working away with these darling dogs. We moved to the 'winter palace' last month - just in time for the influx of dogs that came with the colder weather! We're struggling to transport to the UK just now but are working on it, and in the meantime still looking for himes elsewhere in Europe, and looking after for all the dogs we can. Thanks all for your help, we appreciate everything you do that helps us to help the dogs xx

4 years agoAnother busy week for us - lots of official stuff going on behind the scenes, we'll hopefully be able to share soon. We're getting help from all angles which is superb. Valeria and her crafting ladies are busy with old clothes - all will be revealed soon, you're going to love the goodies! Richard from Rovers Retreat Kennels refurbishes old leads and collars, and has been kind enough to donate a batch that we receive tomorrow. We've found homes for a couple more dogs which is wonderful, so now just working on getting them to their new families

4 years agoNo injuries or illness this week which is fabulous! There has been an influx of new dogs around, the majority of which seem to be pets that got dumped which is always heartbreaking. We are feeding them & building trust. Hopefully we can start getting them to the vet for neutering where needed, & if we can find homes before they get too accustomed to life on the streets that would be amazing! Our biggest issue now is the lack of foster homes. We have a few dogs in foster homes just waiting to be transported to the UK, but it's slow going

Bansko
We've been caring for the Bansko Street Dogs since March 2020 with your help. The feeding, vet care, neutering and rehoming all costs money ... and anything you can spare to help is so very much appreciated!
