Story
Bar Hill COVID-19 Support Scheme is organised by 4 volunteer villagers, Bunty Waters (local councillor), Charles Mather (parish minister), Sarah Whitfield (founder of Bar Hill Community Facebook page) and Kevin Potts (Citizens Advice Bureau adviser). It provides Emergency Food Parcels, shopping and prescription deliveries, all supported by a wonderful group of local volunteers. We also offer advice on a number of worrying topics (e.g. work, debt, benefits, housing) and a friendly voice to listen to people whose mental health may be suffering during the lockdown.
In addition, we wish to help those already struggling financially because of the lockdown, offering emergency food parcels. Donations welcome to help buy food to make up the parcels.

4 years agoAmazing response in just a few days. Thank you so much. As well as working hard to get the support scheme properly under way, the core group is thinking about what to do with any surplus funds that may be left at the end of the crisis. We are unanimous that should there be any excess funds they should go to something within Bar Hill, to benefit residents. Charles
