    Story

Harrison has complex needs. He has a Brain Injury, Autism with a Pathological Demand Avoidance profile, ADHD, Tourette’s Syndrome with OCD, and Epilepsy. With this he also has extremely debilitating anxiety which stops him from performing everyday tasks and doing many of the things we take for granted. Simple things like washing and dressing cause him so much distress as his anxiety levels are so high. He is constantly stuck in the flight or fight mode and finds it hard to control. Just getting out of the house is a daily struggle and battle for him and his family and they are keen to make his life as easy as they can.

Therefore, they are raising money to pay for an accredited assistance dog that would provide an extra level of support for Harrison.

Accredited assistance dogs are dogs that have been trained by accredited member organisations of Assistance Dogs International (ADI) and the International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF). They can help with practical tasks, provide deep pressure therapy to reduce stress and anxiety and provide emotional benefits and greater independence. It is felt that Harrison would benefit greatly from having an assistance dog but unfortunately, they are not cheap. Harrisons parents have applied to Autism Dogs CIC but need to raise £8000.00 to complete the program.
