I have a fantastic opportunity to go on a Global Action trip to Nepal next summer after my A-Levels. I am hoping to raise some of the funds required over the next 12 months to part fund the trip.

In addition to visiting and seeing parts of this beautiful country (Kathmandu and trekking in the Himalayas), the trip is educational and is aimed at enhancing my understanding of global issues and international relations (which hopefully will be highly relevant for my chosen university courses). The trip will give me exposure to the challenges of a developing country and how international agencies and charities are supporting poverty reduction in Nepal. I will also have the opportunity to work on a poverty reduction programme for 4 days in a local community. In addition to this, the some of the funds raised will also go to large charities on the ground in Nepal and will help to improve people's lives.

To help fund this trip I am planning a number of fund raising activities. In August I am cycling the Coast to Coast with a friend (Cameron) who is also going to Nepal. We will be cycling 140 miles over 2 days through the Lake District and Northern Pennines.
