    Story

This is our beautiful son Stanley. Stanley was born at 35 weeks in a traumatic emergency c-section using forceps. Stanley went straught to nicu with breathing difficulties but thankfully only spent 5 days under the care of the amazing doctors and nurses.

It became apparent immeadiately that Stanley's head wasn't the 'norm' when we first visited our son in nicu. This deformity continued to be noticable but feeding difficulties took over our concerns, being told Stanley's head would rectify itself.

Following 3 weeks of pure breastfeeding hell we took Stanley to a feeding therapist who advised Stanley's difficulty latching and feeding had strong connections to the shape of his head, how he was born, his prematurity and that from this he had developed torticollis which meant he could only look to one side and also involved his suck and swallow co-ordination.

Through physiotherapy and regular exercises Stanleys torticollis has improved, Stanley's head deformities have not. Stan has since been diagnosed with severe brachycephaly and plageocephaly. Helmet therapy is the only option to improve Stanley's outcome and to avoid any potential correctice surgery in the future. This therapy however, is not funded by the NHS and we therefore need to raise £2000 as any parent in our situation would try to do.

Thank you for reading Stanley's story and we whole heartedly appreciate your support.

David and Bethany (Stanley's proud parents) x

Well...to say we are overwhelmed is a complete understatement...ive had a proper cry! Thank you to each and every one of you for supporting us in helping Stanley. This means the extra money can be used for travelling to and from leeds over the next 6 months every 1-2weeks.... a huge expense we didnt even consider to ask for..... thank you so so much. This now means we can 100% focus on helping Stanley without the added burden of worrying about finances.... We are truly blessed to have such amazing, self-less, supportive friends and family
