Hello my name is Betsy and I am a Romanian rescue. When I was four months old I made the journey over to the UK to meet my new family. I was a bit nervous to start with but I soon realised this family really loved me and I finally had the one thing I'd always really wanted - a home ❤.

Fast forward to 14 months later and life was brilliant. On the 29th November I got in the car to go to the vets and have my yearly booster. When we got outside the door I got really scared and wriggled out of my harness. I ran into the road and a car hit me. I panicked, I was hurt and I thought I was in trouble so I ran. I ran as fast as I could. I dodged the traffic and all the people that tried to catch me. I thought they were going to hurt me, I didn't realise they wanted to help.

For 57 days I hid in a nature reserve. Occasionally I took a wander, trying to find my family but I made sure I did it at night so people wouldn't be able to catch me. I was cold and hungry. I survived the fireworks through New Year znd Diwali. I survived the storms and I braved the dark every night

I didn't realise at the time but my family hadn't given up on me and alongside searching for me, flooding social media and putting up missing posters they had asked for help from 2 very special charities.

CANINE CAPTURE UK and LOST DOG CAPTURE UK helped my family put up feeding stations, loaned them cameras, advised them what to do at all hours of the day and night and eventually once I had been spotted, set up a humane trap to catch me and bring me home.

I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have been found by these special people and taken back to my family.

I need your help to raise money so they can continue to help other doggies like me get back home to their families. We can help them buy more equiptment and lots more bacon and sausages to tempt the little rascals to the feeding stations and traps.
