Story
My challenge is to ride from Land's End to John o' Groats (unsupported) in less than five days, so that’s an average of over 170 miles per day.
I sit as a trustee on the Board of Harbour Housing. We provide much needed accommodation to vulnerable homeless people in Cornwall. Some residents have bikes which need regular maintenance and TLC, and I want to raise funds to purchase equipment to maintain those bikes and also to repurpose bikes destined for the scrap heap.
Public transport is not always readily available or affordable in rural Cornwall, so a bike can be a real benefit to aid getting about and also for mental health and wellbeing.
Please help me reach my target and give the homeless some hope of a brighter future.

2 years agoI’m keeping the page open as I’m planning on doing some more fundraising events this year. Next on the list is an off road challenge I’m hoping to do if time permits - the West Kernow Way which will take in about 200 miles of riding on my gravel bike. Riding to the start from home, it will involve just one overnight stop so it’s a reunion with the bivvy bag!

2 years agoWell - I did it! I completed the unsupported challenge in 4 days and 17 hours. I saw plenty of cows and sheep, ate loads of vegan burgers and fries from a well known fast food restaurant and was refused entry on the train home, so I had to pedal a further 260 miles to Edinburgh to catch a train that would take the bike. It was a fantastic adventure and I want to give a huge shout out to everybody who donated and supported me along the way. I slept rough for only four days so heaven knows what it must be like to permanently live on the street.

2 years ago175 miles in. Very, very cold overnight. Only now just warming up with a coffee and cake at Highbridge! Huge thank you to everybody who has donated to a very worthy cause. This will make a massive difference to many of our residents.
