Fantastic Books and Where to Find Them has now been up and running on Greendykes Road in Broxburn for three months! In that time, we've been welcomed by a wonderful community of fantastic residents.

In our little bookshop, we've hosted a number of events so far, including toddler storytime sessions, Harry Potter craft days, a Roald Dahl Party, a Halloween Party and an exciting author visit! All of our events are always free as we always want to ensure that everyone can get involved, and we don't believe in putting a price on education and fun in the community.

In the coming weeks and months, we had planned another wonderful author event, an Art Exhibit showcasing the work of local artists and photographers, an exciting Bookbug Event (meet Bookbug and vote in the Bookbug Picture Book Prize), a free Meet Santa event, and another Book-Folding Craft event.

Unfortunately over the past week, our shutters have broken down, and we have been unable to raise them to open the shop. We've had to cancel our events so far until we can get the shutters replaced and get the shop open again...

Our finances are unable to get us to this aim, and so we need some help to get there. The longer the wait to replace our shutters, the worse off our financial position will be as we will be unable to trade in the meantime.

And so, we are reaching out to see if our wonderful local community can help. We want so much to be able to run the free events we have planned. We want to provide exciting Bookbug sessions, Storytime Sessions, Author Events, our Meet Santa event and more. We hope that we are and can become a valuable asset to the community.

In running our events so far, it has meant so much to us to see the children, parents and residents of the local area get excited about books, reading and learning. At our events we have been able to see the excitement that children have for books, and for our events, which has meant the world to us and has made us determined to always keep every single event we ever run free to all.
