Story
My name is Brittany, Monica Arrow’s daughter and I am writing this on behalf of my Mum.
In 2009, my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. After many long hard years of medication, treatments and multiple surgeries my Mum managed to beat cancer, which was great. She started working again and got herself a job as a technician in a high school helping the kids. Things were going really well....or so we thought. Unfortunately a couple of years later my Mum went to get some scans done as she wasn't feeling very well. The results came back showing that she had secondary breast cancer. Now secondary breast cancer is not curable however can be treated so that the cancer doesn’t grow which meant that every so often she would have a check-up with the doctor to see how she was responding to the treatment.
Further down the line the cancer started to spread to her brain, liver, stomach and bones. The cancer in her brain started to push onto her left eye, causing irritation and sight problems. To sort this she was put on a course of 10 radio therapy sessions. This fixed the problem for a short while but then it happened again and my Mum had to undergo another 10 sessions of radio therapy. Even after all the therapy and now having to wear prism glasses permanently to help her eye focus, she will inevitably loose the sight in her left eye. The treatments have had a huge effect on her. She has lost weight and is tired all of the time. The treatment has also caused her to be unsteady on her feet, therefore leading to loss of muscle strength.
In this past year, my Dad hasn't handled my Mum’s illness very well and it has eventually caused him to leave. This has brought a lot of stress on my mum as she now has 4 children to look after and care for on her own.
During the summer of last year we started to renovate the house. It was a three bedroomed house and the plan was to make the big bedroom into 2 rooms so each child could have their own space. Whilst this was being put into action my Mum ended up moving into the conservatory, which isn't insulated and drops to freezing temperatures at night. After the rooms were done, my mum wanted to focus on getting the garage renovated into a bedroom that would suit her needs. The garage is a good place for her room because it's on the ground floor, which is perfect because she finds it hard to walk up the stairs. As my mum is not working and has no steady income because of my Dad leaving, the construction work has grinded to a holt and she still has to sleep in the conservatory.
The last test results she received said that she has less than a year to live. As her daughter I would like to see her live the rest of her life as comfortably as possible.
Please give a donation if you can, every penny will help and I will be eternally grateful to anybody that does.
Thank you.

I understand that your mum has had a lot to deal with as well as the cancer in recent years so I hope you manage to raise enough to make life as comfortable as possible as soon as possible.
