Story
About the Oxford Brookes Shooting Club
We are a university clay pigeon shooting sports team of over 90 members. We participate in clay shooting competitions all over the country from St Andrews, to Cirencester and Wales. We also do weekly training sessions at EJ Churchill shooting ground (near Oxford), where we have been for the past year. We receive free training from them which has helped us to place either 1st or 2nd in the majority of competitions that we have taken part in. We have both excellent men and women shots who bring in team and individual prizes. We are fast becoming one of the best university shooting teams, thanks to the opportunities our sponsors and donations have given us. It is also down to our members who come from lots of different backgrounds and are amazing at putting in the effort to become the best. The club isn't only about winning competitions, we also help people to understand more about the sport itself and teach them gun safety. We run beginners lessons every week and if people want to help them apply for there shotgun license. As a club we want to promote the sport in the best light and are always encouraging as many people as possible to have a go. This is helped by our current main sponsors, EJ Churchill Shooting Ground, Rupert & Buckley Clothing and Alain Paine Clothing.
We rely on donations and sponsorship to keep running each year, this is very important this year as we have grown so much as a club. We want to keep doing what we love and introduce more people to the sport, so that they can become a part of it too.
