Hi my name is Amanda, and we have a 1 year old American Bulldog puppy named Bruce. He lives with me, my partner and our 2 ychildren. From the moment we met Bruce in his litter of 12, we knew we wanted him. They say you choose a dog, well not Bruce, he chose us instead, out of all the puppies he came and cuddled up with me each and every time we visited. Of course we were giving him that forever home.
As time passed Bruce settled in and became our family, our 3rd child, and one of the pack.His personality shone through to everyone and he is just the most gorgeous,softest, friendly puppy ever, no matter how large he is, his heart is bigger, and all he ever wants is cuddles and kisses.
We all know puppies are boisterous, silly, not aware of their size, and Bruce is no different, one day 6 weeks ago he had an accident and banged his leg, A few days later we noticed him limping and sought vet advice, we were told he had dislocated his back knee. The treatment was 4 weeks strict cage rest, yes cage rest for this big loving puppy dog, from anything he was used to, no walks, no coming upstairs to bed, no jumping and sitting in his favourite spot on the window sill. We have done it patiently with much distress to Bruce and to us seeing him like this. But to no avail his knee has not healed. We are now looking at luxating patella surgery which is £850.
Now we are not cheap skates, we are not begging, we are simply just asking for help to hopefully get his surgery done faster than I can save it up.
People may think this is cheeky, but noone would say a thing if i was asking for help with one of my kids. Bruce is our child and I will do anything I can to get him the help he needs.
