Brunel University Rowing Club is an inclusive rowing club currently in it's developing stages. The rowing team currently has about 60 members and is struggling to accommodate all of our members with such limited equipment.

BURC are trying to break the cliché around rowing teams being a predominantly middle-class, white, elite and exclusive sport. We welcome university students of varying ages and of all abilities (from complete beginner to national level competitiors). We offer people the oppurtunity to row at a competetive level or a social/recreational level, with a Learn to Row programme running alongside for people who just wish to learn how to row. Our members are given membership for a small fee of £33 for the whole year; we believe we are well in the running for being the cheapest rowing club to join across the UK.

However, rowing is an expensive sport that BURC are struggling to fund with our limited budget. We currently only have 4 rowable boats (some of which are extremely old and 'run-down'). We have no launch/safety boat of our own, and no coach (other than members of the team). Our club is completely student-led by a number of dedicated members. Despite our lack of equipment, our members still show up to training everyday with passion and drive.

Brunel University Rowing Club are asking for your help to raise funds that will be spent in a number of ways. Your small contributions will mean the world to our team of dedicated members.

Where will your money go?

Our short term goals include:
A new cox box, a steering cable for our 4-, blade handles, spare parts/nuts/bolts etc. for when equipment becomes damaged/broken, new shoes and footplates, rigging for a stroke coach, rental of a communal launch for technical sessions, paint for our blades

Our long term goals include:
A new (second-hand) 8+ (this may have to be a very long-term goal!), new smaller boats (e.g. a convertible 2×/2-), new blades
