Buchan Radio is a community radio station in Peterhead. We are a not-for-profit community interest company.

We have recently taken a break from broadcasting in order to set up our new studios in a brand new premises situated right in the centre of the town but we will be back on air very soon. We are working towards getting a full-time FM and DAB community license and we are hoping that the local community will help us raise some money to make this happen. We also need to cover core costs to keep the station ALIVE.

Buchan Radio's role in the community is to stay local, providing information for the community, supporting local groups, and most importantly, keeping Buchan on the map!

We do a lot of work with people with learning difficulties. We strongly believe in providing opportunities for everyone.

The station currently has around 16 volunteers and we are always on the lookout for more. We are also aiming to work with new partners to improve the station.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

To keep Buchan Radio ALIVE, it costs around £1000 per month. For us to obtain a full-time license for DAB, this would cost around £25,000 a year. To also broadcast on FM, this would cost roughly a further £2500.

Although this seems like a lot of money, every little helps. Any donations are greatly appreciated. We hope to continue providing our local community with their own local radio station.
