    Story

My grandparents were refugees, my grandmother escaped the Nazis after years on the run. She managed to get out of Poland on board a ship, sealed up to her waist in water, with my two young uncles alongside her.

I remember her telling me how they stood in pitch darkness for 72 hours and how the ship was searched by German forces and dogs. Eventually they made land in Sweden and found sanctuary.

My grandmother is now dead - as are both my uncles - but for me today's refugee crisis is deeply personal.

In a couple of weeks time I am am going out to volunteer in Calais with the ace charity Help Refugees. After chatting with them, I have heard how many of the basics are missing for the 7000 people living there.

People need stuff to cook with, sleep in, not to mention food.

I am just a regular guy but wanted to bring something deeply practical with me when I go. I have therefore scoured the world's best equipment manufacturers and found this ultra-tough stainless steel flask, with a clip that can help people arriving with nothing to have water or a hot drink.

It is made by world famous manufacturer Alpkit and costs just £10.50 (after the Justgiving Fee) for each. I'd love it if you would consider supporting me. I go in two week's time. It would be great if I could bring 25 flasks with me.

Thanks for reading my story and for considering supporting, Patrick
