On the 5th March I will be running my first competitive race, the Newport half marathon. Those that know me will know I detest running so it's unlikely to be particularly pleasant. In doing so I hope to raise money for the registered charity Newport Women's Aid (NWA).

NWA provide a number of services in support of women and children that have been victims of domestic abuse and violence including running support groups, providing refuge for those that need it (currently two refuges), and running an information centre for those that require practical and emotional support. Domestic abuse will affect 1 in 4 women throughout their lives so any donations made, however small, may go a long way to helping improve the quality of someone's life :)
