    Story

The time is now before another generation of girls is lost to the crippling effects of severe mental illness and health disorders in adolescents’ girls in Sierra Leone.

Due to acceptable social norms towards some traditional harmful practices, there is a reluctance to help victims or survivor of female genital mutilation (FGM), rape or child exploitation because many often don’t see such act as abuse or harm.

There are no specific therapeutic services available to deal with the mental illness of adolescent girls in Sierra Leone.

With our Can You See Me campaign we want to bring mental health practitioners specializing in working with adolescent girls’ mental health. We will be providing the girls with 6-12 sessions of therapy and support in 3 communities with a high prevalence rates of abuse in Sierra Leone.

Led by the experiences of survivors of abuse we know what it means to be left out or excluded. We want to do more to help bring services to these girls.

By bringing therapeutics services and support directly to them we will change their lives. We welcome donations of any amounts.

We are fundraising £10,000 to bring specialist services to the girls in their own communities. Your donations allow us to pay for a vital team who will deliver and manage this project.

    Help us make this happen.
