Our much loved and respected friend, Ian 'Chewie' McEwan suffered a severe stroke just before Christmas 2019. Since then, Ian has been in hospital and has undergone several life-saving procedures. Although he is now on the road to recovery, this will take time, and a lot of effort (physiotherapy). We would all love to see Ian back to his old self and back at work as soon possible. So we (Ian's friends) hope to help speed his recovery along by trying to raise as much money as possible to enable his family to have alterations completed at home ready for Ian's return, and by contributing to the travel and accommodation costs incurred by the family when Ian undergoes his most intensive physiotherapy in Newcastle (Ian's family live on Teeside).
