Iʼve raised £245 to help fund a new SLR camera to monitor patients with eyelid abnormalities in my clinic at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, Lincs.
- Boston, United Kingdom
- Funded on Friday, 15th September 2017
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
One of the best ways to monitor patients with eyelid abnormalities including tumours, is to take high quality facial photographs each time a patient attends the outpatient clinic. My NHS department needs to update our current camera which, in turn, will allow it to be used at our second site.
As the main user of the camera, I am asking people to donate to this cause, and to encourage this, I am undertaking a supersprint triathlon on September 2nd in Nottingham. People who know me, will be aware of my drive in 2017 to get fitter (from a starting position of the sofa) and I would be grateful if you would consider supporting me, and is cause to help our patients.

7 years agoWell, thanks for all your support. The total from just giving has come in at just under £230 when the fees have been deducted. However, on top of this is the cash donations by friends, family and work colleagues. This is still going up but is over £300 so my target of £500 has been well and truly broken. This is a phenomenal achievement which will benefit patients in 2 local hospitals and I can't thank you enough!

7 years agoGood afternoon. Just an update to say that I have certainly paid for my efforts on Saturday, and have spent most of years week at work whilst getting quite stiff and sore. Sports massage last night has caused significant discomfort too....though will hopefully ease off over next day! Thinking of my next challenge now! One week to go til is page closes, and so it's close to your last chance to donate. Thanks

7 years agoThis is me, on the finishing carpet. It was hard, the run at the end was a killer, but I still got round faster than I predicted, and not last for my age group! A large donation last night was a little extra motivation. I will be keeping this page up and running for 2 more weeks, so there is still time to donate. Thanks for your support!
