Story
Paulie has ADHD autism and Pathalogical demand avoidance. His condition causes him yo have extremely challenging behaviour and he lashes out ,hurting himself, others and smashing all of our furniture, included countless televisions and his beloved Xbox, which is Paulie's only interest.Unfortunately, invisible disabilities don't seem to evoke compassion like physical. Its difficult to see beyond the behaviour.
Its difficult for people to understand that behind this behaviour is a very frightened boy, full of anxiety . He's in constant fight or flight mode
He's extremely isolated and is now permanently excluded from school. Our home is totally wrecked as he throws chairs, and destroys everything breakable, hating himself afterwards. He has no control over these outbursts.
There's no help or support,in our postcode anyway, and a local children's charity helped by funding a TV protector. Anything connected to disability living is extremely expensive.
I need to replace our broken furniture, room by room with this furniture that's made specifically for ASD challenging behaviour. Its called "tough furniture" and they make furniture that's anti ligature (as he's tried to strangle himself with string over a door handle. It can also be fitted to the walls. Its virtually unbreakable. Paulie's thrown all our chairs and broken them, The chairs and sofas are water resistant and can't be cut and damaged like typical furniture.

Our autistic child was exactly the same way. I changed her diet for a year, removing all sugar and carbohydrates (GAPS) and the meltdowns stopped. Best wishes, I hope you get proper support soon.

my little boys conditions cause him to be in fight or flight mode constantly. He lashes out and has meltdowns that can only be described as panic attacks....breaking everything in sight, punching himself ,often physically sick. This behaviours beyonnd his control.
