Hi there, my names Jess and i am a qualified veterinary nurse of nearly ten years. I work with some amazing people who along side myself spend most of our days caring for peoples pets. Our job involves (To name a few things) nursing sick patients, running nurse clinics, monitoring anaesthetics, keeping the practice clean and tidy (mopping up urine, poop and vomit), supporting pet owners through all manner of things including losing the beloved pets. Its a tough job and i can pretty much say that none of us do it for the money (as its not a well paid profession) but do it for our love of animals.

A number of my collegues are struggling fincially, some have debt, some are supporting their whole family due to family illness and some just struggle to get by each month.

It came to my attention that last month an artist gaffa taped a banana to a wall and sold it for $120,000. Im not sure who in their right mind would pay this amount of money for something that took all of two seconds. It would take roughly 5 years for a veterinary nurse to earn this amount of money!!!!........so, ive decided to do something pretty stupid and tape a carrot to a wall to see if we can get some money for myself and my collegues, after all why the hell not. Maybe it will go viral and we will do well and i will clear everyones debts but if it doesn’t then its just a bit of a laugh and we’ve lost nothing,

A few days after the banana sold, a man came along and filmed himself eating it and called it “an art performance”. If this is what people want, if we reach 50% of our target, my guinea pigs will carry out a filmed “art performance”.
