Story
A team of passionate locals want to save the 'Stute'. In the past few years it has fallen into a state of disrepair, much to the sadness of many locals who remember it as an immaculate institute during the first part of the 20th century and later as the home of Cefn Fforest Rugby Club.
The team are attacking this project in a two phased approach. First is about pressing 'pause' on the building, preventing the deterioration getting any worse - that means fixing the roof, dealing with damp and deterring anti social behaviour. The second phase is then seeking longer term funding to reopen the building to serve the community of Cefn Fforest once again.
A new charity is close to being set up and the lease will be transferred as soon as we can do it.
Work needs to begin on phase one before the Autumn to secure the roof, which is currently leaking into a number of the rooms. With your help, we can kick start the process of bringing this building back to life.
Thank you.
