Story
I hope to raise £500 to purchase much needed equipment to develop football opportunities from Grassroots football to Ladies football in my home town and by supporting these local clubs I hope to help all players reach their potential.
I’m Charlie and I’m running the Chester Half Marathon at the end of April this year. By running the half marathon I hope to raise funds and awareness of two local clubs who are very close to my heart. Rhyl FC and Rhyl Commandos JFC, two local clubs who are at the centre of our local community of Sunny Rhyl.
Both clubs promote football for all and encourage everyone to get involved. Rhyl Commandos was set up in memory of Lcpl M Taylor, who lost his life serving our country. Commandos have seven teams who play in the Rhyl and District Junior League. Commandos are always looking for much needed funds to develop the club and are desperate for much needed equipment to give our grassroots’ footballers, the chances to develop their football to their potential. Rhyl Commandos also hold a yearly charity football match within the grounds of Rhyl Fc to raise money for Scotty’s Little Heroes, a charity which is dedicated to supporting children who have lost a parent serving in the British Armed Forces.
Rhyl FC are very much at the heart of my local community of Rhyl and by running the half marathon and raising funds I feel this is a perfect opportunity for locals to give a little back. Rhyl FC encourage players from all age groups from the Under 8’s to the Senior sides for both Women and Men. This season the club has tried to establish a new team, Rhyl Ladies Development, who seek to cater for women returning to the game or making the progress from junior to senior football. With this being a newly founded team and are looking for funds to help set up their team.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope that you can please support both clubs by donating to my crowdfunding page.
We are hoping for as much support as we can get to help these two great football clubs.
