Only Foals and Horses is an equine rescue charity dedicated to rehabilitating abused and neglected horses who have been subjected to horrific suffering and violence. On 23rd June I'm running Total Warrior to help raise vital funds so they can continue their amazing work.

Only Foals and Horses was founded 30 years ago by Olive Lomas (who also helped found the Bleakholt Sanctuary) to rescue mares in foal who were destined for slaughter. Many of the horses now living at Bleakholt were brought in near death, and would have died without the help of the centre.

I have visited Only Foals and Horses ever since I was tiny, when my grandparents would take me to fuss over the horses, donkeys and even goats in the charity's care. I still visit regularly, and currently sponsor big softy Briony.

However, with the tragic death of founder, Olive, Only Foals and Horses is in desperate need of funding to continue its work, fund long-overdue centre repairs and drive forward its horse-human bonding project, Horses as Healers. The project is doing amazing things - helping to empower disenchanted and disadvantaged people while at the same time helping rescued horses reconnect with humans after their traumatic past.

I would love to raise £500, but I would be over the moon if we could push that total even further and raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity. As an incentive for you all, I am running Total Warrior in Leeds on 23rd June, so please dig deep and help me to help Only Foals and Horses.
